Labadee in Haiti has the longest over-water zip line in the world: Dragon’s Breath Flight Line. It’s quite high, and you end up going quite fast. The zoom on my camera may obscure just exactly how high and long the zip line is, so here are the numbers: it is 2,600 feet long and 500 feet high. You end up reaching speeds of 40 to 50 miles per hour! You can read the detailed account here.
Amazing fish at Hanauma Bay
The snorkeling at Hanauma Bay is just incredible. You walk a few dozen feet into the water from the beach and you are surrounded by sooooo many colorful fish. There are a lot of different species, and also a lot of fish. This is one of the best places in the world to go snorkeling. You can read the detailed account here.
The most amazing place to go horseback riding
If you are of a certain generation, and remember being a child in awe when you first saw giant dinosaurs roam the big screen in swaths of greenery, well, you can relive part of that memory by going to Kualoa Ranch on Oahu. This is where those scenes were filmed and the real thing is definitely awe inspiring. If you are ever going to go horseback riding, this is THE place to go just for the views. Petting sharks and sting rays at the aquarium in Boston
The New England Aquarium has a shark and sting ray touch tank!!! I really enjoyed being able to pet these animals. There was such a huge variety of animals in that tank and there wasn’t anything to be afraid of. There was an especially large leopard whiptail stingray that kept coming back. Such a beautiful creature. You can tell from the video that I couldn’t get enough!

Manoa Falls hike
Some video from our hike to Manoa Falls in Honolulu, Hawaii. It takes about a 2 hour hike through the jungle to get to the waterfall. The jungle there is quite beautiful.

You can see lots of sulfur dioxide gas coming out of the summit crater / caldera of the Kilauea volcano. The camera’s zoom allowed me to get a really close view in 4K video.

This big octopus changed colors a few times to try to camouflage itself in the coral reef near the Captain Cook monument in Kealakekua Bay (Kona, Hawaii). It was quite big so I’m glad it didn’t decide to swim anywhere near me! It was amazing to witness this in nature.
