We had an amazing time during our trip to Whistler Blackcomb. We skied on both mountains while enjoying the views, did Olympic bobsledding on the fastest track in the world, went to the Scandinave spa, and enjoyed the delicious food in town. We can’t wait to go back some day!
Tranquil moments in Bora Bora
The gorgeous Matira Beach in Bora Bora. Such an incredibly relaxing scene–the water took all my worries away for a few minutes. Enjoy some relaxation watching the beach in Bora Bora with soothing music.
Birds, birds, and more birds in Australia!
Birdworld Kuranda Bird Sanctuary Cairns is the largest single collection of free flying birds in Australia. Parrot, cassowarys (which is some sort of dino-bird??!!), cockatoos and wide variety of herons. We had a nice time walking around and seeing all the different varieties of exotic birds.
Lots of koalas at this wildlife habitat near the Great Barrier Reef!
The Wildlife Habitat in Port Douglas, Australia, is an interactive zoo featuring guided encounters with koalas, kangaroos, birds, reptiles & more. There were lots of cute koalas and birds. We especially enjoyed feeding wallabies and kangaroos. It’s a great wildlife habitat. The black necked stork was very beautiful.
Not just another rainforest in Australia!
The Daintree Rainforest is the largest continuous area of tropical rainforest in Australia. It is one of the oldest rainforests in the world. The Daintree Rainforest contains 30% of the frog, reptile and marsupial species in Australia, and 90% of the bat and butterfly species. We saw lots of animals on this tour including several crocodiles.
Rainforests at night in Australia!
We went to rainforests in the Atherton Tablelands at night (there’s just so much to do in Australia!). The tour started in the afternoon in Cairns, included dinner and went into the night so we could see nocturnal animals. We saw several Kuzu, which resemble possums but are not related. We had a lot of fun hiking, and the guide was very knowledgeable when it came to the flora and the fauna.
Ancient rainforest in Australia!
We went to Kuranda Rainforest by Skyrail in Australia. We took the full roundtrip on the Skyrail to go to and come back from the Kuranda Rainforest. The views were great–especially of the waterfall on the shiny coal-like rocks. We also enjoyed seeing the butterflies and the birds in Kuranda. A great place to spend the day! We saw so many different butterfly and bird species. We hope you enjoy this video from our Australia 4K series!
Cairns Botanic Gardens in 4K
After a week of snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef, we were excited to spend a day on land at the Cairns Botanic Gardens. We took a self-guided stroll along several of the walking paths, and appreciated the easy-to-follow map and plant markers. We weren’t surprised that our trip didn’t coincide with the rare blooming of the garden’s giant Corpse Flower, but would have loved to catch that! In all, the gardens are meticulously maintained, full of beautiful and rare tropical plants and flowers, and definitely worth a visit.
One week in Iceland
Iceland is a gorgeous place with remarkable landscapes in every direction: from icebergs in the water, to geysers, waterfalls, glaciers and volcanoes on land, to the night lights in the sky. We hope you enjoy this 4K highlights video from our one week trip there!
Jellyfish meditation
Any time we visit an aquarium we linger at the jelly tanks. There is something so peaceful about jellyfish and their gentle, effortless movements. We filmed these beautiful jellies at some of our favorite aquariums across the world.
Beginners on Blackcomb
As beginner skiiers who had never been to a major ski resort (what do you mean, you have to take a gondola for 25 minutes just to get to the trails?!), we were definitely nervous about our Whistler vacation. After a fantastic MAX4 lesson—which we absolutely recommend—and a full day on Whistler, we decided to take the Peak to Peak and give Blackcomb a try. We found the tree-lined trails on Blackcomb to be a bit more intimidating than the open runs on Whistler, but after a few passes, we came to prefer the atmosphere and natural beauty of Blackcomb. We’re definitely happy we got to experience both mountains, and can’t wait to go back!
Tranquil moments in Iceland
Our trips are almost always active and jam-packed with excursions, so sometimes we forget to simply sit and take in the natural beauty of the places we’re visiting. In Iceland though, you can’t help but stop to marvel at the country’s unbelievable landscapes and epic vistas. This video we took of Fjadrargljufur Canyon brings us back to that feeling of awe, and also reminds us to pause, take a deep breath, and relax.
March of the flamingos
The Ardastra Gardens & Zoo in Nassau, Bahamas is home to a group of talented Caribbean flamingos who march and pose at their trainer’s command. At this quaint and friendly zoo, you’ll also encounter rainbow lorikeets, black swans, and Madagascar lemurs, among other small animals.
Saint Maarten with Bernard’s Tours
We took a Caribbean cruise on the Allure of the Seas, and on our shore day in Saint Maarten we visited some of the island’s must-see locales, including the iguana farm, the French/Dutch border, Orient Beach, and Maho Beach to watch the low-flying planes.
Iceland’s Glacier Lagoon
Our longest day trip in Iceland was to see icebergs in Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon. Despite the very long day (the excursion was about 18 hours!) the trip to Glacier Lagoon was absolutely worth it. Most tour companies offer this as a 2-day trip, but a few now have a 1-day option. Aside from the glaciers and incredible icebergs, we also saw some epic waterfalls, and were lucky enough to spot the Northern Lights on the bus ride back to Reyjkavik.
Video tour of Iceland’s Blue Lagoon
We loved the peaceful afternoon we spent at Iceland’s Blue Lagoon—one of the country’s most popular tourist attractions. The silica and algae masks left our skin feeling soft and refreshed, and it was a perfect break from our busy schedule of sightseeing across the island.
Dog sledding in the moonlight
While researching attractions near the Omni Mount Washington Hotel in New Hampshire’s White Mountains, we stumbled on the website for Muddy Paw Sled Dog Kennel. We love unique, once-in-a-lifetime experiences, and dog sledding at night seemed like a perfect fit!
View from Magic Mountain
We decided to try one of the ATV Moorea tours and are so glad we did! The tour was absolutely fantastic: we got to drive on both paved roads and in the mud all around the island, swing from banyan trees, see amazing vistas, and eat delicious ice cream. The guide was great and emailed us photos from the excursion a few days later. We highly recommend this tour, and be sure to upgrade to the extended route because the view at the end from Magic Mountain is the best part!
