On the second half of our Moorea Miti Tour, we enjoyed a delicious lunch on a private beach, followed by some more snorkeling in the crystal blue water.
Circled by sharks
The Moorea Miti Tour was fantastic. For the first half of the tour, the boat brought us to a shallow sand bar to swim with black tip reef sharks and stingrays. Lots of close encounters with these incredible animals!
Walking underwater in Moorea
On the Aquablue Helmet Dive excursion in Moorea, you breathe fresh air that’s piped into a large metal helmet that rests on your shoulders. You walk along the bottom of the lagoon for about 30 minutes with your guide. We loved seeing fish and coral from this new vantage point!
Ultimate Bora Bora snorkeling day 2
This was our second excursion with Reef Discovery! We had read and heard such wonderful things about this tour, we booked in twice because we wanted to hedge our bets against the rainy weather that had been hanging around the island. On this tour, the highlight was the alien looking coral gardens. Take a look at the video to get an idea of what the tour is like!
Ultimate Bora Bora snorkeling
We’d heard such great things about Bora Bora Pure Snorkeling by Reef Discovery that we booked the excursion twice! We saw myriad species of fish, moray eels, an octopus, eagle rays, and even a manta ray. Take a look at the video to get an idea of what the tour is like! This video is of day 1.
So many tropical fish eating from our hands right off the deck
There were so many different species of fish right off of our overwater bungalow’s deck at the Sofitel in Moorea. The snorkeling was fantastic and we had a lot of fun feeding fish from our hands. The parrotfish were especially aggressive when it came to eating the bread. You can actually hear the fish grab the bread! A few of them thought my hand was food and tried to get a piece of that as well!
An awesome aquarium that has a bit of everything
We saw some amazing fish and other sea life at the aquarium in Boston. There were plenty of jellyfish, sharks, sting rays, turtles, penguins, seals, and more. The variety of fish there is incredible. They even have a mermaid’s purse where you can see a shark embryo grow and eventually hatch!!! The touch tank is another favorite where you can safely touch sting rays and sharks. We easily spent most of the day at this aquarium.
Fish, fish and more fish in the Virgin Islands
Above is the full video of our snorkeling trip to Trunk Bay in the Virgin Islands. We saw lots and lots of different fish and other sea creatures. Some of the coral there was just massive:
There were also lots of small squid:
Closer to the beach, we also happened to see a big stingray:
And there was one interesting fish that liked to burrow in the sand and hide:
