Manoa Falls hike
Some video from our hike to Manoa Falls in Honolulu, Hawaii. It takes about a 2 hour hike through the jungle to get to the waterfall. The jungle there is quite beautiful.

The jungle you hike through to get to Manoa Falls is very lush and beautiful. Some of the trees are so incredibly big; the huge trees make the setting feel like a scene our of Jurassic Park. Fortunately, no man eating creatures in this jungle as far as we could tell.

This big octopus changed colors a few times to try to camouflage itself in the coral reef near the Captain Cook monument in Kealakekua Bay (Kona, Hawaii). It was quite big so I’m glad it didn’t decide to swim anywhere near me! It was amazing to witness this in nature.

This bluefin trevally (blue ulua) was patrolling the coral reef near the Captain Cook monument (Kona, Hawaii). It had absolutely beautiful colors that shined in the sunlight. It was between 2 1/2 and 3 feet long; definitely an intimidating fish! You can read the detailed account here.

We swam with a pod of wild dolphins in the ocean and they got really close
Most of the wild dolphin dives in Kona take to you where they sleep during the day, thus disturbing them as they try to rest. If you would like to minimize the impact you have on the dolphins and not disturb their sleep, take earlier morning tours that follow them on their path home. It is more difficult to find them in the wild, but you minimize any negative impact.
